NECTA’s Historical Background in a Nutshell
The Curriculum and Examinations Section of the Ministry of Education was responsible for all examinations after Tanzania Mainland withdrew from the East African Examinations Council in 1971, and before NECTA was created by law in 1973. Exams became NECTA’s duty in line with the legislation with the foundation of the organization.
The Curriculum remained under the Ministry of Education and the University College of Dar es Salaam until 1975, when it was transferred to the newly founded, independent Institute of Curriculum Development (ICD), which was renamed the Tanzania Institute of Education in 1993. (TIE).

Dr.P. P Gandye, who was recruited in 1972 and subsequently promoted as Executive Secretary in 1994, was among the original staff members of NECTA, who were hired between 1972 and 1976. Other employees continued to be hired, particularly when NECTA’s headquarters relocated from the Ministry of Education to Kijitonyama, near Mwenge. NECTA now employs about 250 people.
NECTA was founded in 1992.
How to check Matokeo Form Six 2022/2023 ?
Step 1 : visit www.necta.go.tz.
Step 2 : Click on “Results” from the Main menu.
Step 3 : The “Results” window will show all results available.
Step 6: Select “Exam Type” as ACSEE which means advanced Certificate of Secondary Education
Step 5: Select your “Year” as 2022.
Step 6: Students can now check their ACSEE result

– Click on “Results” from the Main menu of NECTA’s Website
– The “Results” window will show all results available.
– Select “Exam Type” i.e ACSEE.
– Select your “Year” i.e 2022
Students can now view their ACSEE results
– List of school will be displayed
– Click on Alphabet letter in which the school you studied belong example “A” for Azania high school
– Now View your Results / Matokeo – Form six results 2022 in the list
